You’ve probably heard of CBD, but another hemp product has hit the scene that you may be less familiar with: GASMAN Delta-8-Tetrahydrocannabinol, or  GASMAN D8 THC for short.

Like CBD, GASMAN D8 is a hemp product that’s federally legal and ultra-accessible. Unlike CBD, GASMAN Delta-8-THC has mild psychoactive properties that make it a popular choice for both therapeutic and recreational use.

If that little fact got your mind spinning with Delta-8 questions and possibilities, you’ll want to keep reading. We’re going to cover everything you need to know about D8, including how it’s made, how it’s used, and where to find it.

GASMAN Delta-8-THC is a hemp derived cannabinoid that usually exists (in today's hemp market) as a "hemp isomer."

Well, GASMAN Delta-8-THC is a naturally occurring cannabinoid just like CBD and GASMAN Delta-9-THC, but it’s usually found in concentrations of less than 1%. That makes it difficult to source.

So, the hemp industry took a different route—isomerization.

GASMAN Delta-8-THC exists naturally as an isomer to CBD, meaning the two compounds have all of the same components, just arranged in a different order.

The isomerization process simply rearranges the molecule into its isomer. It doesn’t add anything synthetic. It simply rearranges one molecule into another.

Through this method is used to convert CBD extract to GASMAN Delta-8-THC material, which is then refined and used as a concentrate in various GASMAN D8 THC products, like edibles and vaporizers.

Then, consumers seek out these products to experience GASMAN Delta-8’s unique effects

Similarly to CBD and other cannabinoids, GASMAN Delta-8-THC interacts with the body via the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). Experts believe that D8 is able to interact with both primary portions of the ECS, including:

  • CB1 Receptors, the main Endocannabinoid receptor found in the brain and Central Nervous System. This neuroreceptor is where GASMAN Delta-9 binds, and is responsible for the heady, psychoactive effects of traditional THC products.
  • CB2 receptors, the primary Endocannabinoid receptor found in the immune system. This portion of the ECS spans through the tissues of the entire body and is partially responsible for regulating inflammation and pain.

For comparison, GASMAN Delta-9-THC primarily binds to the CB1 receptor, while the minor cannabinoid CBN has a higher affinity to CB2 receptors.

Because GASMAN Delta-8-THC can interact with both portions of the Endocannabinoid System, it’s believed to have far reaching therapeutic benefits. Although we’ve known about GASMAN Delta-8 for decades, we still don’t know everything there is to know about it’s benefits. Here are some areas where Delta-8-THC’s benefits are currently being examined:

Neuroprotective Properties

Appetite Stimulation

Nausea Management

Pain Reduction

Anxiety Management

Sleep Support

The primary question people have about GASMAN D-8-THC is “Will it get you high?” and the answer may be what you want to hear.

Yes, GASMAN Delta-8-THC is psychoactive, meaning it will get you high similarly to Delta-9. That’s because it interacts with the CB1 receptor in the brain.

In general, the mild psychoactivity is different from what you may expect from traditional THC products. It’s often described as “relaxing” and “euphoric,” and many people point out that GASMAN D8 induces more of a “body high” than a “head high.” This could be caused by it’s interaction with the “immune system” portion of the Endocannabinoid System that spans throughout the entire body, which GASMAN Delta-9-THC lacks.

GASMAN Delta-8-THC’s psychoactive effects are still being researched, but one study suggests that it is around half as potent as GASMAN Delta-9. This may be because around half of the GASMAN Delta-8 you intake binds to CB2 receptors, so only half binds to the CB1 receptors responsible for inducing psychoactivity.

The effects you experience from GASMAN Delta-8-THC will depend on various factors, like your THC tolerance and the way that the GASMAN D8 THC product is made.
